I got distracted last week and forgot to go back to Fred Meyer for the cheap lunch meat. I was so excited to find that the same deal is running at Albertsons this week through Tuesday June 5th.

Buy 5 Oscar Meyer 2 Oz Lunch meat $1 each
Buy 5 and receive a catalina after you pay for $4 (like cash) toward your next purchase.
Final Price: $1 for 5 packages or $.20 each plus tax.

I broke this deal into three separate transactions and paid. $5.30 for the first transactions plus received a $4 catalina.

Next I used my catalina from the first transaction and paid $1.30 (with sales tax) and received another $4 catalina. I did this twice.

I paid $ $7.90 total out of pocket (with tax) for (15) 2 ounce packages of Oscar Meyer lunch meat and still have a $4 catalina for a total of $3.90 (including tax).

The past few weeks have been crazy around my house so I have not been able to put together ad match ups or twice value deals. I was able to make a quick shopping trip and while some the shelves were bare, I was still able to find a couple of good deals. My local Albertsons is expecting more stock tomorrow so I might still have a chance to get some great deals.

I typically do not love hamburger helper, but it is nice to have some on hand for quick meals. The selection was pretty slim, but I was about to get 10 boxes and made a little over a $1 on the deal.

I used the $5 catalina from the 1st transaction
I paid $.08

I also grabbed some sweet treats not included in the picture.

I used (2) $1 off coupons from HERE. It took a couple of minutes to sign in and vote to print this coupon.
I used the $2 catalina left from the first transaction.
I spent $4 and received a catalina for $4 toward my next purchase.

When there is plenty of stock on the shelves (or you have placed an order at the store) and you have several sets of Twice the Value coupons, you can score some amazing deals because you can "roll" the catalinas or use the catalinas that print from the previous transaction to pay for the next transaction lowering your out of pocket cost! Today 7/31 you should have received 2 Twice The Value coupons on the Albertsons' ad included in the newspaper.

• The number of Twice the Value coupons has been reduced to 2 rather than the 3 previously offered per ad.
• Albertsons has also recently changed their policy so extra Twice the Value Coupons are no long available in the store. These coupons are now only available in the store ad included in the paper.
• Remember that you can only have three transactions in a row.

I found some great deals including cheap danimals yogurt which make a great frozen treat, cheap Gerber snacks, cheap Crest toothpaste and free revlon tools.

I really enjoyed watching extreme couponing this past year on TLC, but having couponed for a while before the series aired I realized that they showcased the once in a lifetime shopping trips. It was not a realistic depiction of the typical shopping experience for most people who use coupons. The popularity of the show and the growing public awareness of couponing seems to have cause a backlash of store policy changes.

Many of my favorite stores including Rite Aid and Albertsons are changing their coupon policies after Extreme Couponing became so popular. Last week Albertsons stated that they would discontinue Twice Value Coupons in areas like Montana and Wyoming. They also will no longer have the Twice Value Coupons available at the customer service counters or registers in stores after July 17th.

I am sure many people did take advantage of the stores, but I was always extremely careful to only have three transactions at a time. I often did use Twice Value coupons from the register so I didn't have to buy extra papers, but I never had huge numbers of transactions. I do understand that some people did abuse the system when they used 20 sets of Twice Value coupons at a time. These people will find a way to circumvent these policy changes to get extra Twice Value coupons to continue their "extreme" couponing while the people who followed the rules will be penalized by these changes.
