One of my favorite ways to save money for my Christmas fund is mystery shopping. Mystery shopping allows me to help companies improve their customer service while I earn a free meal and some extra cash.
The most important thing when finding reputable companies is that they never ask for money up front. They often require you to complete an application. When I find a new mystery shopping company I want to work with, I fill out the application and then I usually try just one job the first month. This gives me an opportunity to determine how quickly they pay, what types of jobs they offer and how complex the process is to report my shops.
I have worked with companies like Amusement Advantage, Intell-shop and Market Force. Most jobs pay $5-20 plus free food or products. Other companies like Amusement Advantage can offer tickets in exchange for your report. The reports can me be complex but I earned $150 worth of water park tickets last year and free food and bowling for the family.
